Qn - What is the record for multiple roles in an Indian movie?
I am sure you all would say, its Sanjeev Kumar in the movie 'Naya Din Nayi Raat' with 9 roles.
Well, it still holds true. Except for the fact that he shares this record with a Bhojpuri actor named Ravi Kishan. Ravi, who is supposed to be a household name in Bhojpuri-speaking belt essayed the remarkable feat of 9 roles, in a cinematic extravaganza, that goes by the name of 'Raja Bhai Lagey Raho'.
Now, you all must be wondering where and how and why on earth did I get this info from. Well actually, I have always been fascinated by the B-grade movies screened at Capitol cinema, just opposite VT station. Not that I have been to any of these. For the past one week, there has been this 'Raja Bhai Lagey Raho' poster that screamed back at me every morning. Did a bit of Google Search on the movie and that's how I got this info. Will someday include it in a quiz, just to drive participants mad.

one more piece of info for u to go with ur research on the same....the hindi movie,'naya din,nayi raat' is a cut-to-cut remake of a Tamil movie titled 'navaratri' which released in the 60s...starring the legendry Shivaji Ganesan and dancing queen Savitri....so Sanjeev Kumar in reality shares the record with Shivaji as well...i aint no ardent quizzer, but i want full points for this one....

@ JK - I take strong offence at being referred to as porno-researcher. Coz, the word 'porno' reminds me of the infamous Quizmaster 'Pornob without the B'.
@ Surya - Oops! I goofed up on that one. I forgot that 'Naya Din Nayi Raat' was a remake. Full points to you.
BTW, have the two of you seen the movie 'Michael Madana Kama Rajan' featuring Kamal Hassan in 4 roles? I saw it a long time back on Doordarshan, when they would show regional movies on Sunday afternoons. (I think they still do. Haven't watched any for a long time.) I'd read the English sub-titles and that movie was hilarious. I still remember parts from the movie.
ya..have seen 'michael madana kama rajan'...u wud love it if u cud understand Tamil...its damn funny with the pun-intended statements...n the best part bout kamal is that he's sung all songs in the film...can u believe it?...he sings better than professionals....kudos to him!!

Ravi Kissan in Pardeshiyon Se Na Preet Lagayha, Preet Na Jane Reet, Raja Bhai Lagey Raho …………I have never seen that all….but still posters expresses that to stimulate erotic not aesthetic feelings come out.
